Officiating to a Standard.
Define It. Develop It. Deliver It.
Today, more than ever before, officials are held responsible for their actions – whether it is during a game or not. It is critical that all officials enforce rules, manage games and build relationships – with consistent and appropriate behavior. What is right? Are there standards to follow? What are the standards? Who sets the standards?
In this era, officiating leaders are expected to implement these guidelines, standards and policies while addressing various levels of accountability. The Sports Officiating Summit will address these issues with this year’s focus – Officiating to a Standard: Define It, Develop It, Deliver It. Discussion will cover the definition of wanted behaviors and those to avoid, how they are to be communicated and measured – and the strategy to ensure uniformity across all sports and levels.
In cooperation with the National Federation of State High School Associations and the Ohio High School Athletic Association, this is a must attend event for leaders of state high school officiating programs, local association officers, supervisors and coordinators, assigners, conference administrators and sports officials.
This educational program will empower officials, provide unmatched resources to state and local associations and deliver essential analysis to officiating leaders everywhere.
Join us. Because setting the standard begins with leaders who believe in it.
